take a moment
since it's not adviced to dwell in the past, i paid more attention to the present time instead and concentrate to what's going on in front of me at that moment.
this is what i always do when a certain blast from the past just happened.
this time as i watch people passing by in the street, the world revealed one of the most nostalgic things from my childhood.
HELICAK!!!
di antara jaguar, metromini, kijang inova berseliweran, di tengah-tengahnya ada helicak ijo butut dengan kaca bergaya 'kepecah-pecahan', bergerak sangat pelan di jalan gereja theresia. bapak yang mengendarainya pun nggak kalah old school dengan celana berbahan semi wol warna coklat tua, kemeja abu-abu lengan panjang ketits, dan topi 'fedora' lusuh ala abang becak [in this case ala abang helicak] .
this brings me to a thought :
darimanaaaa coba si pak heli bisa memunculkan kembali si helicak yang udah punah 20 tahun lalu. apa di rumahnya itu heli beibi disimpan, dirawat, dan dipake anak cucunya jalan-jalan ke ragunan? kenapa juga dia baru memutuskan untuk jadi 'anak' heli lagi afterall this time? where was he all this time? kemaren-kemaren dia ngerjain apa? mungkin dia mau bikin helicak come back lagi??? heli fully loaded perhaps??
and to another thought :
more than twenty years ago i got into that helicak in this very street, jalan gereja theresia juga, mau ke sarinah thamrin juga. bedanya, i was five years old, rambut dikuncir dua, dan ke mana-mana harus ditemani orang yang lebih tua.
other than that....
it's the same little girl who still feels excited when she sees helicak.
the nostalgic theme didn't stop there yet.
kira-kira 500 meter di depan, ada kakek-kakek naik sepeda jengki tua yang depannya ada keranjangnya, lengkap dengan jas tweed coklat tua, kemeja putih dikancing sampai atas, dan topi pet, plus kaca mata kecil nyaris john lennon lookalike glasses.
he looked vintage.
like coming right out of a sephia postcard.
the scene was just beautiful.
to remind you, jakarta wasn't in its usual hot day. it was cloudy, the wind breezing lightly.
if you look closely, life is just beautiful in so many many ways.

helicak apaan sih? kok gua belum pernah naik dan belum pernah liat yah? tidak adiL! katanya dunia ini indah, tapi kenapa gue belum tahu apa itu helicak mak klonyosh itu? huh!!! >:(
wah dik yala mungkin belum lahir pada saat helicak itu berjaya...
helicak itu semacam becak bermotor.
jadi instead of dikayuh becaknya, ini dikasih motor belakangnya.
en becaknya tertutup, kayak bajaj.
tenang...nanti kugambarkan di papan tulis seperti biasa...
